Failover is a method of protecting computer systems from failure, in which standby equipment automatically takes over when the main system fails.
Failback is the process of restoring operations to a primary machine or facility after they have been shifted to a secondary machine or facility during failover. During a site-wide failover, I/O (input/output) and its processes are shifted from a primary location to a temporary disaster recovery (DR) location.
(DRP). Disaster recovery planning is a subset of a larger process known as business continuity planning and includes planning for resumption of applications, data, hardware, electronic communications (such as networking) and other IT infrastructure.
Redundancy is a system design in which a component is duplicated so if it fails there will be a backup.
